Scheduling M4 Electives

Advocate Health Care policy only permits rotations for students who attend medical schools with Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accreditation.

Advocate Health Care does not provide opportunities for visitors as medical observers in its hospitals, clinics or physician offices.

Elective rotations do not require an affiliation agreement.

Advocate Christ Medical Center/Advocate Children’s Hospital – Oak Lawn is now participating in VSLO for scheduling of elective rotations. Please visit the VSLO site to view our catalog and submit your application.

For students of affiliated schools (Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science/Chicago Medical School, Midwestern University/Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, University of Illinois Chicago, Des Moines University) the elective schedule will open March 1 at 7:00 a.m. CT for the upcoming academic year.

For students of non-affiliated schools (must be LCME or AOA accredited), the elective schedule will open March 15 at 7:00 a.m. CT for the upcoming academic year.

Students may schedule up to two rotations, subject to availability. The first rotation can be scheduled for months June – December, the second rotation can be scheduled for January - May.

You will receive an email confirmation once you are scheduled.
