Required learning experiences:

  • Orientation (4-6 weeks)
  • General Pediatrics I and II (each 4 weeks)
  • Neonatal ICU I and II (each 4 weeks)
  • Pediatric ICU I and II (each 4 weeks)
  • Pediatric hematology/oncology (6 weeks)
  • Pediatric ID (4 weeks)
  • Pediatric Cardiac ICU (4 weeks)
  • Pediatric administration and leadership (4 weeks)
  • Continuing Education Presentation (12 weeks)
  • SPS adverse drug event committee (Longitudinal - 48 weeks)
  • Research project (Longitudinal - 48 weeks)
  • Clinical weekend staffing (Longitudinal - 48 weeks)

Elective learning experiences:

  • Pediatric Emergency Department
  • Investigational Drug Service

Resident qualifications:

At a minimum, the resident candidates must meet the following criteria to be considered for selection:

  • Expected to complete or successful completion of an ASHP-Accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency
  • Obtained Pharm.D. (or equivalent) from an ACPE-Accredited College of Pharmacy in the United States
  • Eligible for Illinois licensure
  • Currently a citizen of the United States (ALGH does not sponsor H1B or equivalent Work Visas)
  • Interview
