Consider donating your bone marrow

Every 4 minutes, someone is diagnosed with a blood cancer like leukemia. For many patients, a stem cell/bone marrow transplant is the only life-saving treatment option. But finding a bone marrow match can be rare, especially if a patient is of a certain ethnic background.
How you can help: Consider joining the Be The Match bone marrow registry. You could help save someone's life. Things to know:
- Anyone can join the registry, but it is primarily in need of people between 18 and 44.
- There is no cost to donate for people between 18 and 44. A small donation fee is required if a person is older than 44.
- Peripheral blood stem cell (PBSC) donation – the most common type – is non-surgical, causes minimal pain and has a quick recovery period.
