Our services include:

General dental services including exams, digital x-rays, fillings, crowns, scaling, prophylaxis, partial and full dentures are expertly provided to patients by faculty and resident general dentists. It is recommended that patients visit their dental professional at least twice a year for routine check-ups and cleanings. Schedule an appointment today at the Advocate Dental Center.

Our dental experts use advanced 2D and 3D intra and extra oral imaging to provide patients with high quality diagnostic services which leads to better patient treatment, understanding of recommended treatment options and outcomes. Digital imaging reduces radiation exposure by up to 80% and instantly produces high quality x-ray images of teeth and jaws.

The highly skilled hygiene team assists patients with their oral hygiene needs and helps them prevent dental disease through educational and therapeutic services that include plaque, tartar and stain removal. Oral health directly positively impacts whole body health.

We assist patients in selecting affordable and conservative options to address their aesthetic concerns related to the shade, position, or appearance of their teeth. Options at our Dental Center include tooth whitening, tooth reshaping, bonding, veneers and Clear Correct tooth repositioning.

Root canal therapy is required when tooth decay or trauma affects the nerve of a tooth resulting in severe pain and/or infection. Less complex cases can be treated at our Dental Center, but more difficult cases will be referred to a nearby staff endodontist.

Our Dental Center offers implant supported tooth replacement services at affordable fees and our surgical and prosthetic teams use the latest in 3-D implant planning technology to give our patients predictable clinical results. We perform both the surgical placement and restorative phases of treatment.

This orthodontic service relies on a series of clear, custom-molded aligners that gradually reposition patients’ teeth. Treatment includes regular progress checks with a dentist or orthodontist and typically ranges from six months to two years.

Staff oral surgeons work closely with our general dentists to provide a wide range of less complex outpatient oral surgical procedures ranging from extraction of erupted and impacted teeth to biopsy of oral lesions.

More complex cases will be referred to the private practice of a staff oral surgeon or to one of the oral surgeons in the Oral and Maxillofacial Head and Neck Associates (OMHNA)/Oral Cancer Institute group that maintains a private practice at the Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. The focus of this group is on more advanced oral and maxillofacial surgeries ranging from orthognathic surgery, the treatment of TMJ patients, to treatment of patients with benign and malignant oral-head and neck and salivary gland tumors that may require major reconstructive procedures. Orofacial Pain (OFP) services focus on the diagnosis and management of complex pain conditions affecting the face, jaw, head, and neck. At the Advocate Dental Center, Dr. Linda Sangalli, Orofacial Pain specialist, treats patients with a wide range of oral, jaw and facial conditions: temporomandibular disorders (TMD), neuropathic pain, primary headache and non-odontogenic (tooth related) pain. These conditions often involve overlapping dental, musculoskeletal, neurologic, and psychosocial factors, making accurate diagnosis and coordinated care essential.   Treatment is individualized and evidence-based, with an emphasis on conservative, non-invasive approaches. These may include patient education, self-management strategies, oral appliance therapy, medication management, and involvement of physical therapy and other healthcare professionals. The goal of OFP services is not only pain relief, but also improved function, understanding of the condition, and long-term management strategies that empower patients in their care.

Dr. Sangalli is a clinician-scientist with a multidisciplinary background in orthodontics, orofacial pain, and dental public health. She received her dental degree, a Master’s in Orthodontics, and a Ph.D. in Technology for Health from the University of Brescia (Italy), where she also practiced as a Specialist Orthodontist for over a decade across Italy and the United Kingdom. Motivated by a desire to bridge the gap between specialty care and chronic pain management, she then pursued a Master’s in Orofacial Pain at the University of Kentucky (USA).

Our Dental Center is staffed with pediatric dental experts who are specially trained in the treatment of children’s and teens’ oral health issues.

Our general dentists collaborate with our periodontists when treating gum disease or placing dental implants to replace missing teeth.

We offer a variety of treatment alternatives for more complex cases related to the replacement of missing teeth, including partial dentures, complete dentures, bridges and implant-supported prostheses.

Sedation & General Anesthesia

We offer safe, comfortable sedation and anesthesia services for children and adults. These options are ideal for patients with dental anxiety, a strong gag reflex, extensive treatment needs, difficulty achieving effective pain control with traditional anesthetics, or challenges tolerating dental procedures.

Treatment options include:

Nitrous oxide (Laughing Gas): Nitrous oxide, is a gentle, sedative inhaled through a small mask. It helps patients feel relaxed within minutes, making dental treatment more comfortable. Once the gas is turned off and replaces with oxygen, the effects fade quickly, allowing patients to resume normal activities.

Conscious IV sedation: Conscious IV sedation uses medications administered by a dentist anesthesiologist to help patients feel deeply relaxed while remaining awake and responsive. This option is often recommended when other pain-management methods are not sufficient. Most patients feel back to normal by the next day.

Deep Sedation/General Anesthesia: Deep sedation and general anesthesia induce full unconsciousness and are typically recommended for more complex dental or surgical procedures. This level of anesthesia is especially helpful for young children, patients with special needs, or individuals who have significant difficulty cooperating during treatment.
