About the program

Mission

Advocate Christ Medical Center aims to train, build, and inspire confident, knowledgeable, and skilled physicians in a community-based academic hospital on the South side of Chicago. We provide rigorous education to develop and train capable and curious lifelong learners dedicated to providing excellent and compassionate Obstetrical and Gynecologic care to their community.

About us

Advocate Christ Medical Center is a 900-bed teaching hospital and a large Level I trauma and Level III NICU center located on the southwest side of metropolitan Chicago. The Obstetrics and Gynecology department serves a diverse population of patients coming from both urban and suburban areas, and patients from low resource and low socio-economic background. We also serve a culturally diverse population of both local and migrant patients seeking acute and ongoing care at this facility. Advocate Christ Medical Center provides both inpatient and ambulatory services in obstetrics, including high risk obstetrics, gynecology, gynecology oncology, ICU, and emergency care.

Advocate Christ Medical Center has multiple in-house residencies and fellowships. Our Graduate Medical Education office, therefore, is well equipped to serve trainees from multiple subspecialties and levels of trainings, with ongoing logistical, financial, mentorship, safety, and research support. As part of a larger Advocate network, training oversight is provided on an institutional level, ensuring quality of training that meets our national standards.

We have long been a site for Ob/Gyn residency and medical student training and are excited to develop our own in-house program. Given our long tradition of clinical education, our faculty are committed to excellence in residency and graduate education, and training of dedicated and skilled physicians. The faculty that compromises our department include both private and larger hospital-based groups, both community and academically trained, who have been active in their clinical teaching roles, offering diverse perspectives in providing women's healthcare. Our program provides a unique training opportunity, combining community-based hospital setting with high acuity and volume hands-on training in both general and subspecialty Obstetrics and Gynecology.
