Intern Survival Series (July): This series is designed to help incoming interns acclimatize to both the hospital environment and basic internal medicine topics. A combination of foundational medical lectures and hospital systems-based sessions will refresh key knowledge and help new residents navigate their first month with confidence.
Noon lectures: Held from 12-1 p.m. 3-4 times a week, the Noon Lecture is structured around monthly organ system reviews. Led by our expert faculty, attendings, subspecialists, and chiefs, these lectures offer a comprehensive understanding of each system. The format evolves throughout the year, with sessions including Journal Club, Morbidity and Mortality Conference, Senior project presentations, Shwartz rounds, Resident Case Presentations, and Gamification sessions.
Morning reports are held during the ambulatory Block, where residents rotating in the primary care clinic gather to present, review, and discuss clinical cases. This session encourages active participation and collaborative learning. More senior residents take the lead in presenting MKSAP reviews in preparation for their board exams. Additionally, outpatient Journal Club sessions allow residents to analyze and discuss recent research articles, further enhancing their clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice skills.
