4th Year Medical Student Elective Rotations
Four-week elective rotations are offered to Fourth Year Medical Students in the following three subspecialities:
Applications for the elective rotations are accepted from January 1 – March 1 of the preceding academic year. Applications received after March 1 will be automatically placed on the waitlist. Students will be notified of a decision in mid-to-late March.
The selection process is very competitive, and fourth year medical students with an interest in pursuing residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and in serving a diverse ethnic and socioeconomic population are given strong consideration.
Completing an elective rotation does not guarantee an interview for residency. However, clinical performance on the elective rotation will be taken into consideration when reviewing residency applications.
Elective rotations are primarily offered June through November. However, other months can be given special consideration.
To be considered for a 4th Year Elective Rotation, please send the following documents consolidated into one PDF file:
- Current CV
- USMLE and/or COMLEX Score Report
- 200-word narrative on why you are interested in pursuing OBGYN
- Rank preference order of the three sub-specialty rotations (most desired to least)
- Rank preference order of available dates for rotations (most desired to least)
Completed PDF file and further inquiries should be sent to Charlotte Hammond-Brown at Charlotte.Hammond-Brown@aah.org.
