Telehealth & urgent care video visits with an online doctor anytime, anywhere

With video visits, you can get care from a provider just like an in-person visit without the trip to a clinic or your doctor’s office. With Quick Care Video Visits, our video visit providers are available 24/7 to help with minor illnesses like cold, flu or sinus infection. You can also schedule a video visit with your dedicated virtual primary care provider or request a virtual visit with your in-person provider from the comfort of home.

Quick Care Video Visits

Our urgent care video visits – called Quick Care Video Visits - are a way for you or your child age 2 or older can see a provider quickly for diagnosis and treatment – just like an in-person urgent care visit. You’ll receive 24-hour virtual urgent care with the next available online doctor for common, nonurgent symptoms related to minor illnesses like cold, flu or sinus infection.

Most Quick Care Video Visits are billed to your insurance. If you don’t have insurance, you’ll receive a statement detailing your financial responsibility. See our FAQ to learn more.

We're also able to provide Quick Care Video Visits if you have Medicare or Medicaid as your primary or secondary insurance.

Scheduled video visits

Video visits with your virtual care provider

Virtual primary care offers comprehensive, personalized health care via video visits for the whole family. You can establish a relationship with a board-certified family medicine provider of your choice, who you’ll always see virtually for sick care, chronic condition management, preventative care and more. You can easily schedule online and connect with your trusted care team at your convenience.

Appointments are required and available daily from 6 a.m.-11 p.m., including same-day options. Your visit will be billed to your insurance – the same as an in-person primary care visit. And if you need lab work or screenings, your primary care provider will help coordinate your care at a location near you.

Video visits with your in-person provider

Video visits with your established provider are just like office visits – minus the trip. To request a video visit, call your provider’s office or schedule in LiveWell, if available – some appointments, such as physical exams, require you to be seen in person.

A video visit with your primary care provider, specialist or another member of your care team will be billed to your insurance and is subject to any coinsurance, copay or deductible – just like an in-person visit. If you don’t have insurance, you’ll receive a statement detailing your financial responsibility.

Things to know about telehealth

The difference between telehealth and urgent care video visits is that telehealth refers to all types of online health care. Telehealth visits may include video visits, visits by phone or e-visits (diagnosis and treatment recommendations sent via email).

At Advocate, we offer three types of video visits: virtual primary care video visits, urgent care video visits (called Quick Care Video Visits) and video visits with your established in-person provider. Quick Care Video Visits offer 24-hour virtual urgent care for minor illnesses with the next available telemedicine provider without the trip to an urgent care office. Virtual primary care providers are your dedicated family medicine provider you’ll always see for video visits – for any health need, including sick visits.

You also have the option to see your established, in-person provider via video visit during office hours. Whichever type of video visit you request, our telehealth care providers are here to help you feel better from wherever you are.

Be prepared to answer a lot of questions. Since there’s no physical examination, the telemedicine provider will spend time asking detailed questions to better understand your symptoms and health concerns.

To ensure you're getting the best care possible, you may be asked to come in for lab tests such as a strep test or to pick up medication as a result of your visit.
